PHAGE
Made for the 2024 Pirate Software Game Jam.
Theme - "It's Spreading!"
Control a white blood cell trying to survive and adapt to an ever spreading infection!
Shoot BACTERIA to make them dormant, then collect them to level up and select upgrades.
Look out for PHAGES. They will infect bacteria to reproduce. They are nastier, but are also more valuable! Don't let them spread out of control however.
Can you survive for 8 minutes?
***Note***
I uploaded a webgl version of the game for ease of access, but it has some issues loading the graphics and may not perform as well as the desktop version. It is playable from what I can tell, but will not be the best experience.
From what I can tell, it appears to work better in Firefox, but has some issues with chrome.

Tried it few times, had a fun experience.
Only negative is that at later stage red background particle flashing was messing with my eyes.
Yeahhhh it gets a little intense. Believe it or not I actually toned it down from an earlier build. My choice of lighting and post processing effects didn't scale very well I realized towards the end. All part of the learning experience! Thank you for playing and the feedback! :D
Cause of death: Malaria.
Everything works, nice implementation of the genre. Like how antibody sticks to bacteria and a sound effect.
Played WebGL build in Firefox on Windows.
Thanks! The antibody sticking thing was a royal pain to implement given I use object pooling for the bacteria and the antibodies in separate object pools lol. Was a good learning experience
